As a coach, I understand as per Carndonagh FC rules, FAI and Childrens First Act that I must undergo Garda Vetting and a Safeguarding course to Coach within the club.
I must endeavour to act as a role model for my players, be responsible and demonstrate a high standard of behaviour
- No drinking/ smoking/ vaping or taking of illegal or performance enhancing substances in front of or in the vicinity of young players/ children.
- Never engage in bullying behaviour
- Never ridicule any Club officials, parent or player. Any issues must be dealt with in an appropriate environment.
- Always provide a welcoming, safe environment for your players
- Take pride in your club appearance and be presentable
- Never ridicule the club, if you have an issue then it must be dealt with at club level.
- Club is volunteer led, please treat each other with respect, we are working towards making Carndonagh Fc a better club.
Be punctual and arrive on time for training and matches and seek help where you are unavailable, inform the head coach/committee.
Do not use any form of foul, abusive or discriminatory language and ensure only age appropriate conversations is permitted.
Coaches will treat match officials, opposition team coaches, physio and players as well as Club officials with respect
Be approachable at all times, allow players or parents to discuss any issues with you and refer them to any club officials or direct them to help where appropriate.
Coaches should endeavour to ensure player gametime as per the FAI player development plan and encourage participation and enjoyment of the sport.
Ensure player welfare, by ensuring parents adhere to their Code of Conduct. Where a parent is disrupting matches etc with abusive or condescending behaviour, parents must be reminded of their actions and a warning may be given in line with the best interest of the players.
If you as a coach become aware of a child welfare issues or have a concern, please contact your Child Welfare officer or Head Coach immediately for help and support.
Keep tidy the clubhouse and ensure all equipment is keep to the high standard. Report any lost, damaged or stolen items to club committee or head coach were appropriate.
