Everyone has a role to play in ensuring that the game is free from bullying, verbal, and physical abuse and that the game is played in a competitive and fair manner. All players have a responsibility to promote respectful and positive behaviour.
As role models, our club senior players must demonstrate behaviour that younger players can follow and that they would expect other players, team officials and match officials to display. It is essential that YOU play your part and always follow the Code Of Conduct:
- Play by the rules of the game, abide by competition rules and regulations set down by the League, Ulster FA and FAI.
- Fulfil your playing commitments to the club.
- Respect the rights and dignity of all players, team officials and match officials always.
- Refrain from any verbal or physical abuse of any such behaviour to cause harm to another player, officials etc.
- Do NOT engage in any form of harassment, Racism, bullying or discrimination towards anyone.
- Accept the Referee decision and act respectfully to all referees/ Match Official.
- Be professional, act as a role model and accept responsibility for your actions. Ensure you promote the best interest of football and consider how your actions may affect the image of you as a player, role model, club member and football in general.
- Being involved in Carndonagh Football Club, I accept I have a responsibility to be a good ambassador for the club.
- Make NO detrimental statements in public (internet, social media, print or radio etc) in respect to any club, player, manager, referee, football league etc (including Carndonagh Fc).
- I will respect my club Gear, wear the appropriate gear as needed on matches day, I accept it is my responsibility to ensure that I respect our clubs kit, training equipment and facilities at all times.
- I recognise the importance of training sessions and note it is my responsibility to attend such sessions, I will arrive punctually at the time and venue set by my coach.
- Communication is key within a team and I not it is my responsibility as a player to inform my coach /manager if I cannot aend a training session, match or I am injured.
- I am aware that as a member of Carndonagh FC, if I feel I need assistance with any mental health issues – depression, addiction, eating disorders etc. The club will help guide me to specialist areas where appropriate, ensuring we are supportive of you as an individual at all times.
I understand that I must abide by the above Code of Conduct and that a breach of this Code of Conduct may incur the following sanctions/ requirements.
- Required to apologise to the person or people I have offended.
- Required to attend a meeting with Club Officials.
- Counselled by my club.
- Given a Formal warning by my club.
- Suspended from training and/or games.
- Fined by my club – applies to red cards for violent conduct.
- Dismissed by my club.
- Required to face a disciplinary hearing and receive sanctions imposed by Inishowen League, Ulster FA or FAI in accordance with the competition rules and regulations.
